Radio Wisła, a Seattle based Polish internet radio station, has just posted a recording with Henryk Wrożyński. Wrożyński is an actor, theater director and a poet who lives in Shoreline. In the mid-1990s, he founded and then ran for a decade the Studio 21 theater in Tacoma. The recording consists of two parts presenting poems in Polish read by the author. The Polish Spring Bazaar is a regular, full-blown affair this year and the organizers, the Polish Women’s Club, are looking for volunteers to help staging the event. The bazaar will be on April 9, 2022. Local cinematographer Michal Pietrzyk’s documentary All on a Mardi Gras Day has been added to The New Yorker portal along other notable documentaries. James Allen Hicker, one of the pillars of the Polish community of Tacoma, has passed away peacefully on December 1, 2021, after a short illness. He was 88. James was born on May 3, 1933, in Tacoma. He attended Lincoln High School and graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 1955 with a BA degree. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He married Jean Marie Sliwa on November 12, 1955.
