Wayward Music Series presents the concert “Luke Fitzpatrick: The Light Strikes” with violinist Luke Fitzpatrick. The program with solo works fusing violin, electronics and voice includes newly commissioned works by composers Kerrith Livengood, Sam Krahn, Marcin Pączkowski and Luke Fitzpatrick. The concert will also feature a “golden” classic: a work for violin and electronics written for Luke by Jeff Bowen. The Polish Home Association and the Seattle Polish Foundation present an inaugural Chopin concert showcasing the new excellent Steinway B concert grand piano that has been recently purchased through a very successful fundraiser honoring memory of Barbara Strutynski. The Polish Cultural Center presents The Marek Probosz Theater in the monodrama “Powrót Norwida / Norwid’s Return“; the performance is in Polish with English subtitles. The Polish Band Riverside is coming to Seattle to play at Neumos. The band plays hard progressive rock and includes Mariusz Duda – leader, lead vocals, bass guitar & guitar, Piotr Kozieradzki – drums, Michal Łapaj – keyboard, vocals and Maciej Meller – guitar. The Polish Home Association and the Seattle Polish Foundation present an appreciation concert for donors who contributed to the recent grand piano fundraiser in memory of Barbara Strutynski. The fundraiser has gathered over $60,000 to purchase an excellent Steinway B concert piano for the Polish Cultural Center Dom Polski in Seattle. This is the very first concert using the new piano. Another comeback after the pandemic: the Polish Cultural Center invites everybody to Opłatek, a wafer & goodwill sharing event that has been a long-standing tradition of our local Polish community. The Seattle Symphony presents Hilary Hahn in the Brahms’ epic Violin Concerto. The program includes the Concerto for Orchestra by the Polish composer Witold Lutosławski and the Tragic Overture by Brahms. Polish Festival Seattle returns to the Seattle Center Armory and the Mural Amphitheater this year. This year is also the 10th anniversary of the festival – it started in 2012, yeah! The festival will open with a parade from the Mural Amphitheatre to the Armory Food & Event Hall at 12 p.m. There will be the usual attractions – folk group performances, a Chopin concert, exhibitions, movies, workshops, Polish food and a beer garden as well
