The 10th Seattle International Piano Competition at Benaroya is a well-established international event with a strong Polish connection. There are special prizes for performing music by Polish composers: The President Prize of the Best Performance of a Work by Frederic Chopin, Best Performance of a Mazurka by Chopin in Category 10-13, and Best Performance of a Mazurka by Karol Szymanowski in Collegiate Category. It doesn’t hurt that the SIPC President is Polish-born Ivona Kaminska Bowlby, herself an accomplished pianist. Also, one of the finalists this year somes from Poland to compete in the Collegiate category (on Sunday, September 22, at 10 am).

The Seattle International Piano Competition has always been a global event, and this year’s edition is no exception. With over 250 applicants from 17 different nationalities, the 2024 competition is a true celebration of international talent. This global representation not only highlights the universal appeal of piano music but also brings a rich diversity of styles and interpretations to the competition.

The SIPC is the only such event in the Pacific Northwest during which you can watch and listen to live piano competitors from the top conservatories as they dazzle with their virtuosity, talent, and unique voices. Cast your vote for the “audience favorite” in each of our five categories. During each edition, the SIPC receives applications from over twenty countries.

• 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm – Final Round, Ages 14 to 18

• 10:00 am to 12:15 pm – Final Round, Collegiate Artists
• 1:30 pm to 3:45 pm – Final Round, Professional Artists
• 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm – Guest Artist, Cameron Akioka (2022 President’s Prizewinner) and Presentation of 2024 Award Winners
