This is the main summer picnic for the Polish community of Seattle, and everybody is invited. It’s organized by the Polish Home Association, the biggest Polish organization around, together with the Seattle-Gdynia Sister City Association. However, this is a Polish picnic open to all, so drop by if you feel Polish or would like to socialize with the local Polish and Polish American crowd. Come to share good food and fun! PHA & SGSCA will supply kielbasa, hotdogs, bigos etc. along with beverages and even ice cream for kids! You can bring a salad or a dessert to share. Attractions include signing songs for the Soldier’s Day and friendly games and competitions with awards. Everybody is invited to this great event!
The picnic is at shelter #1 – look for a Polish flag and a PHA and SGSCA banners.
How to get there. Apparently, driving to West Seattle on a Sunday is not that bad, despite the closed bridge. Another option is to ride a Rapid Ride C line bus to Lincoln Park from South Lake Union, Capitol Hill or downtown.
