This is your last chance to see the play in Polish “Przygody Pchły Szachrajki” based on a classic poem for children by Jan Brzechwa and directed by Anna Kułakowska. This show is part of the annual Mikołajki party for kids and is free of charge as the Polish Home Associations sponsors the show.
The play is a journey to the fantastic world of insects. That world is set in a different reality where there is no electronic devices or computers, and everything is powered by mechanical and steam energy. Together with the play’s heroes, the viewers will be able to follow the adventures of the eponymous Mischievous Flea in this fantasy world.
There are three child actors in the play: Amelia, Liliana and Martynka, and four grownups: Anna Kułakowska, Paulina Phung, Steve Chernyavskiy and Jerzy Staszak. Marcin Pączkowski and Krzysztof Kułakowski collaborated on the musical side of the project. The scenography and backstage support provided by Beata and Viktoria Jakobsen.
This is the first play staged by the newly formed Polish theater at the Polish Cultural Center, its premiere was in June 2022. The theater has been founded and led since its inception by Anna Kułakowska. We hope more plays will follow!
This project is supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Los Angeles and by the Seattle Polish Foundation.
