It is February and winter is in full bloom. A snowy blanket covers our Pacific Northwest, and it’s so beautiful! But with cold weather the season comes for colds and flu. Since COVID-19, we don’t take colds and flu lightly. We want to be safe and prepared to enjoy life like the rest of the year. There are many methods and drugs to help with sore throats, runny noses, and more severe symptoms.
I’d like to introduce you to safe and affordable homeopathic remedies that are very effective. I’m a homeopathic practitioner and have been practicing homeopathy for 25 years. I use it for myself, my family, and friends with great results.
Homeopathy is a holistic medicine developed by a German doctor, Samuel Hahnemann. It is highly effective in curing a wide range of illnesses, from minor health problems to very serious conditions.
Here, I don’t want to talk more specifically about homeopathy, but how can we use it at home to fight colds and flu. Colds can be tricky – some people have just runny noses and general malaise, while others may suffer from coughs and chest pains. In every case, colds are annoying and often make our lives miserable. So why not try something simple and safe?
The answer is: ColdCalm and Oscillococcinum. ColdCalm, as its name suggests, is useful for relieving cold symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, minor sore throat, pains, and aches associated with colds. It is a non-drowsy, artificial-free product for adults and kids ages 4 and up. It doesn’t interact with other drugs. It works best when taken at the onset of the cold, so it’s best to have it at home. My 95-year-old mom loves it! Since she started using ColdCalm, she stopped having colds or flu.
Another great remedy – and this one is specific for influenza – is Oscillococcinum. It helps to reduce both the duration and severity of flu-like symptoms, such as body aches, fever, chills, and fatigue. Oscillococcinum is non-drowsy and recommended for the whole family ages 2 and up. As with ColdCalm, for best and quickest results, it is recommended to take it at the first signs of flu. Still, taken later, it will reduce the severity of symptoms.
Both medicines, ColdCalm and Oscillococcinum, are sold without a prescription over the counter in most pharmacies, and in stores like PCC or Whole Foods. Many doctors trust Oscillococcinum and successfully use it in their practice. So, it’s worth trying it.
